I wandered lonely as a crowd

the video is really cool but for me it loaded slow ... it helps if you put the volume down to mute, wait and make yourself a cup of tea while it plays the first time, then "replay".

Cellar fridge temperature today: +3°C

  1. Very nice, I'll watch it.
For me videos are always extremely slow to watch and upload: meanwhile I can have a lunch, take a stroll, tidy up a room... ;-)

  2. I know, my sister is on dialup. And while you are waiting, you can not use the phone? I hope this one was worth your while. I think Sandy will like it, if she has not already seen it somewhere.

  4. Your composition is beautiful.
I haven't watched the video yet: it will take some days... I'll tell you.
While I am in the internet, I cannot use the phone, of course!!!

  5. I will tell you both what is in the video, so hat you can decide if you like it before going through too much trouble; it is a poem by Wordworth in rap version. the animal costume and the dance are cute, and the presentation is modern and swinging. Here are the words of the poem if you are not familiar with it.

If it is any consolation: there are limits to the benefits of fast internet. We have fast internet, fast traffic everywhere, on the road too. On the one side, there is not much natural free space left to live... on the other hand, there is plenty space to move around (preferably by means of a car or a computer)

I miss the peace and natural deep silence sometimes.

  6. Thanks for the information.
The slow connection is good enough for what I have to do. However, I am thinking to buy an internet key: it's 7 mega, portable everywhere, without any bulky accessories.

  7. That picks up a wireless signal doesn't it? I have seen them in Australia. If you live in an area in the mountains you might have a problem.
My sister ended up having a satellite disk installed. I think she is happy with it, she can watch videos now. The installation of the disk was free it comes with the monthly plan, which cost about 100 AU dollars a month (100 australian dollars was roughly 67 Euro's this summer, is only 50 Euro's today but in terms of income, still comparable to 67 Euro/month)

  8. That took a minute to stream, but it was worth it. What a great interpretation.

Hope all is well in the fridge!

  10. I think you have the Internet key in your country too. The little key is inserted in the USB socket. Yes, in the mountains one can have problems, but in the area here the signal is rather strong. There are several rates: one of them is 25 Euro/month for 100 hours navigation.

  11. I've never seen them here, actually, or advertising for them. We do have "hotspots" - areas you can connect to the internet through wifi, with your laptop, no need for a USB key. The rates for such a plan are around 35 Euro's a month, connection only works in Hotspot areas (airports, some hotels and public places) but the navigation is unlimited. In most houses the cheapest plan is cable, about 15 to 35 Euro's a month depending on the speed - for unlimited connection, which is practical if you use it for work. To communicate with coworkers through internet is much cheaper than by phone.

  12. We have "hotspots" too, but, as you rightly say, they work only in Hotspots areas, and here they are quite difficult to find. I should say that here "hotspots" are not much used. Another way is the classical ADSL (with the modem) on the phone line: we can have it at 7mega or even at 20 mega: the 7 mega costs 20 Euro/month for unlimited navigation. I think you have the ADSL, haven't you?

  13. Yes we do, I forgot to mention ADSL because I never had it, but it is exactly the same as cable, I think. I have fast cable internet, and I am not sure exactly about the cost, because I have a combi plan with tv and telephone and internet. The cost of the internet comes down to 20 Euros. But if the internet key works for you that sounds very attractive, especially to be able to take it everywhere. A friend in Cairns has the internet key and is not too happy with it, but that might be the fault of the network, not the key. When he visits my blog his IP address is from different locations in East Australia, never Cairns. I think there is simply too many routers between him and his provider which makes his connection slow, it is probably not the fault of the key.

  14. You're right, it's probably the fault of the network. However, I've never tried the internet key: I asked about it, I saw the advertising, but have never seen how it really works. When I buy it perhaps I will be disappointed... :-)
